Series, episodes, air dates and cast come from the TVmaze API, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0.

Book data and covers

Titles, authors, publication years and cover images come from Open Library, an Internet Archive project. Covers are loaded by cover id, the form Open Library asks integrators to use.

Countries and flags

Capitals, regions, currencies, languages, populations and flags come from countries.dev, built on GeoNames under CC BY 4.0.

The world map

Coastlines and borders are Natural Earth data, which is in the public domain, packaged as world-atlas by Michael Bostock under the ISC licence.

General-knowledge questions

These come from Open Trivia DB, written by its contributors and licensed CC BY-SA 4.0. They are the one set of questions on this site that isn't generated from a stored field, and they're kept off the global scoreboard for exactly that reason: the answers sit in a public database anyone can search.

Apart from the general-knowledge ring, no question here is written by a person or a language model. Each one is generated from a stored field — an air date, an episode count, a cast credit, a publication year, a capital city, a population — and carries a record of the field it came from, so every answer can be checked against the row that produced it.
